Overview

Innovating the Future of CRGO Manufacturing in India

JSW JFE Electrical Steel is a groundbreaking collaboration that introduces cutting-edge Cold Rolled Grain Oriented (CRGO) manufacturing technology to India. This joint venture aims to set a new benchmark for high-performance electrical steel production.

What is CRGO?

Cold Rolled Grain Oriented Electrical Steel (CRGO) is a specialized silicon alloy steel with a unidirectional grain structure, offering exceptional magnetic properties along the grain alignment. CRGO is essential for the production of power transformers, distribution transformers, furnace rectifiers, electrostatic precipitators, traction transformers, and other critical electrical equipment, including series and shunt reactors.

Why is CRGO Important?

CRGO plays a vital role in reducing electricity distribution losses, contributing to greater energy efficiency and supporting environmental sustainability. By improving power transmission, CRGO helps reduce CO2 emissions, making it an essential material for a greener future.

Our State of the Art Manufacturing Facility

The joint venture is establishing a cutting-edge, greenfield manufacturing facility in Vijayanagar, Karnataka, to produce a full range of CRGO Electrical Steel. Additionally, we have expanded our presence in India through the acquisition of the former Thyssenkrupp CRGO plant in Nashik, accelerating our market entry and technological capabilities.

Leading the Way in Innovation

Our partnership is poised to be the first in India to produce Melt and Poured CRGO using an integrated manufacturing route, further enhancing the efficiency and quality of our products.
